Home Services in Knox County Outlying Areas

Issues Common to Knox County’s Unincorporated Areas

Our home systems expertise adapts to the neighborhoods we serve, ranging from municipal to rural.

What we find in the outlying areas of Knox County often includes the following.

• No city sewer, no city water in many spots: A large share of homes in Corryton, Mascot, and Strawberry Plains run entirely on private wells and septic systems, which means routine maintenance falls entirely on the homeowner; there's no municipal backstop if a tank overflows or a well pump fails.
• Bigger lots, longer line runs: Properties out here tend to sit on more acreage, which means water and sewer lines run longer distances underground than in a tighter subdivision, with more distance for roots, shifting soil, or old pipe joints to cause a problem.
• Farm and outbuilding electrical demand: Homes with a barn, workshop, or well pump running off the same electrical service as the house often push past what the original panel was ever built to handle.
• Older rural housing stock: Some properties in these communities were built before current plumbing and electrical codes existed, so a repair sometimes turns up a second issue that was already there, unrelated to what you called about.
• Distance from service providers: Being outside Knoxville proper means some companies don't cover these areas well or at all, but we do.

Built on Veteran Values, From the Ground Up

Robert Keith founded GoHero Home Services in 2004 after a career that began in the U.S. Air Force, where he taught the trade to other service members. He carried three states' worth of master plumbing licenses and more than 30 years of hands-on experience into building this company.

More than the licenses, what we provide is the way the military does things: show up when you say you will, do the job right the first time, and take responsibility if something goes wrong instead of making excuses.

For homeowners in Corryton, Mascot, Halls, and the rest of Knox County's unincorporated communities, which are far from many home service contractors, that kind of accountability matters. We don't treat a property as a lower priority just because it's twenty minutes farther out.
